Did it occur to anyone besides my husband that the reason mothers and fathers don't like their kids being called down by other adults is because it reflects badly on them instead of/ in addition to their kids?
Pretty insightful, I'd say. But then again, I love my husband and could be a little biased.
Actually, I don't like it because 9 out of 10 times people are calling down my child for something I don't have a problem with. And if I am not instructing them at any given moment it is because I am CHOOSING not to. And I don't think it is up to other adults to try to usurp my choice with my child. Which is precicely why I make a habit of not minding other parents business.
ReplyDeleteHow do you like them apples?! ;-)
I am talking about when the parent is not there...
ReplyDeleteNOT when they are standing there. That would just be rude.
And if I am not there, I would hope you would mind my business for me. And you have, as Joey's butt in your corner would attest. :)
