A few weeks ago Tim and I received an email from our child placing agency telling us we either had to reopen our home or close it. After much discussion, we decided to reopen our home and adopt another little boy. Joey and Chris are so excited; they have wanted to help another little boy with no mommy and daddy for a long time. We are doing paperwork and taking our training classes. The classes should be completed around the end of October, and then we have to have our home study updated. I do not know how long our agency will take to get the update scheduled and completed, but possibly we could begin receiving calls for placements sometime in December. We are hoping for a little boy between 2 and 4.
When we were approved to adopt the first time, I remember sitting at Ivy's house talking to mom on Memorial Day. I told her that I would come help paint whatever room needed painting at the time, and she told me I would be too busy with kids. I thought she was crazy.... Didn't she know you had to wait months to get a placement? We had only been waiting since about the second week in May. Ha! Well, the joke was clearly on me since we got a call and received the boys the very next day. Boy, did we scramble to get ready! I have said many times that I would have said no to the placement had Tim not been home. Thankfully he was! I cannot imagine life without my two precious boys.
So, there is no way to know how soon or how long it could take to get our third son, but in the meantime, we have some getting ready to do, although this time around there is not nearly as much. We do need to buy a bed, lol, and organize our medicine closet. We have to lock up the knives and clean the garage. I need to figure out a way to lock up Ilse's cholesterol and still be willing to unlock it three times a day. We need to think through how we are going to keep Ilse's environment as germ free as possible.
We are excited and thankful that we can give a home and a family to another orphan, if God allows us to. Will you pray for us? I will keep everyone updated. :)
How wonderful! Can't wait to hear what's in store for you! Do you think we could talk sometime about adoption? It's an option that I think Aaron and I are seriously considering. I don't really have a good idea of the first step to take, and I know your experience would provide some invaluable insight. I know it's hard to find time to sit down and talk with little ones running around, so maybe we could at least e-mail/fb or somehow connect about it. I love reading about you precious family. You're such an inspiration.
